Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Concealer and Setting powder Review

When I heard that Rihanna is releasing a new product – Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch concealer in 50 shades, 8 shades of translucent setting powder, and 10 more shades added to her foundation family. So naturally, when it was available at Sephora, I had to go buy all three and try it out.  I want to give you guys my honest thoughts on these three products.

I’m going to start with the foundation. When Rihanna launched her makeup last year, the foundation was a game changer for me. The Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear foundation comes in 40 shades, that’s something that you don’t often see from big beauty companies. I find that shades from popular brands are either too light or Ashy for me, and I literally have three shades to pick from. So when Rihanna launched her line I was so excited to actually be match. With the Fenty foundation, everybody can feel included. 

When I got my foundation for the first time I didn’t know that the foundation oxidizes. I was like what the heck. I just want to point that out just in case you didn’t know that. I also found that applying the foundation with my brush was a no-no for my skin. I found that a beauty blender works much better since I have very oily skin. I love the matte finish this foundation gives me. 

This foundation is amazing, I find that it gives me a natural finish. At the end of the day, I still look fresh.

The concealer

Rihanna made it so easy for us, with her Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer. Once you find your foundation shade there’s a matching concealer that goes with it. No more guessing, hallelujah👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻.
I usually don’t use concealer since I have fine lines under my eyes and I don’t want them to be the center of attention. On the Fenty Instagram page,  one of the photos says it’s “creaseproof so you can cover dark circles, hyperpigmentation, blemishes, and the aftermath of a wild decision.” For me, the aftermath of a wild decision will be staying up all night watching Netflix when I find a really good show and can’t stop watching and have to look fresh like I got an eight-hour sleep 😂. This concealor works great for that.

I love the way the concealer feels, it’s very soft, has great coverage and it doesn’t feel heavy at all.

I tried the concealer with and without powder (Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder) to see how well it worked together. I find when I applied the powder under my eyes, after a couple hours, I saw some creasing.

Overall this concealer is a winner for me.

When it comes to the Pro Filt’r Instant retouch setting powder, I’m not a huge fan. Since it doesn’t work very well under my eye but every skin is different and may work perfectly for you.
